ARB Jindalee is a business and outfitter of 4×4 Accessories. They also supply camping and other accessories.
I have been a avid 4 wheel driver for many, many years, from when I first travelled by a secondhand Series 2a Landrover in the mid 1970’s. Since then I have owned and have outfitted many other vehicles. One constant over the years has been, I seem to have subconsciously always fitted ARB accessories, be it a bullbar, a roof rack etc.
Recently, I acquired a Ford Ranger which needed a fit out with some of the modern fancy stuff and a suspension upgrade, so I went to my local ARB store at Jindalee. Right from the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by the staff with enthusiasm and eagerness to answer any questions. Although the shop front may not be as big as some of the other ARB stores, ARB Jindalee has a good selection and range of products on display and were happy to discuss gear that wasn’t in stock or on display.
I think it was the second or third visit, I meet the owner, Gary Woodhead, who was approachable and happy to answer questions about touring or 4x4ing in general and different equipment available.
When I was ready to have the major components fitted, the staff were professional in their workmanship and responsive of my demands on fiddly work. I was very happy with the little things they did without me having to ask for it to be done.
On my first trip after the fitting out, I had a small problem with one of the component fitted (though no fault of ARB) and when I took the Ranger back to the workshop at ARB Jindalee, they put it up on the hoist and inspected the vehicle to fix the fault, while I waited. They did it with no fuss or excuses, they just fix the problem free of charge.
My experience with ARB Jindalee isn’t to say other stores do not provide a similar level of workmanship or customer service or that their products are inferior. I’m just reviewing my own experience with the ARB Jindalee store and it’s staff.
On another point, many people complain that ARB equipment is too expensive. Well I’m going to put my two bobs worth of thoughts out there. There is an old saying that you get what you pay for and that is true on many levels. But I think what many people are missing is the after sale support when something goes wrong out in the middle of nowhere. I am confident that if a ARB component failed, and I get in touch with the store, particularly if you have built up a relationship with a particular store, they will do everything they can to get you out of trouble, if possible. Now, can you get that type of service from a ebay seller? The products are generally high quality and as a case in point, I have a original ARB single air compressor that was purchased in the early 1990’s and is still going strong.
So, in short, if you need a kitting out of your 4×4, I would highly recommend ARB Jindalee. Give the store a call or drop in and talk to the staff, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
